What is the difference between single currency and dual currency credit cards?

The difference between single-currency credit cards and dual-currency credit cards is roughly as follows:

1. The settlement methods are different. Single-currency cards can only be settled in one currency. Dual-currency cards can only be settled in one currency. The currency card can be settled in two currencies. These two currencies are not arbitrary and have conditional restrictions;

2. The repayment methods are different. The single currency card is the RMB card (there is only UnionPay on the card logo, card number starting with 62) When buying things in the mall, the settlement is in RMB. When repaying, you must pay the bank in RMB, and no foreign currency repayment is accepted. Dual currency card is a RMB and USD card (the card has not only the UnionPay logo, but also the VISA or MasterCard logo, and the card number usually starts with 43 or 52). When making purchases, purchases at POS settled in RMB or UnionPay payment platforms are denominated in RMB, and repayments are made in RMB. Consumption at foreign currency POS (POS with the VISA logo) or international online shopping platforms is in U.S. dollars. For accounting purposes, you will eventually have to pay back U.S. dollars to the bank (convert RMB into U.S. dollars and then repay).

In short: It is definitely not that a single currency is the RMB, and dual currencies are the RMB and the US dollar. There are single-currency cards issued in foreign currencies in China, as well as dual-currency cards such as RMB and Hong Kong dollars, RMB and British pounds, etc. When used domestically, there is no difference whether it is a single-currency or dual-currency card (excluding single-currency cards with pure foreign currencies, of course), and they are all settled in RMB. Usually don't expect to withdraw US dollars domestically (but not absolutely).
