If you can’t afford to pay off your credit card, you can negotiate. The negotiation method is as follows:
1. Show a positive attitude towards repayment. If you want to negotiate with the bank and apply to extend the repayment period, repay in installments, or suspend interest payments, first of all, you cannot choose to ignore the debt after it is overdue. Even if the overdue debt cannot be paid off in full at the moment, the cardholder will not be able to pay off the overdue debt in full. You should be able to repay a little bit, so that you can show your willingness to actively repay when negotiating with the bank later.
2. Explain the reasons for the overdue period. As long as you clearly explain the reason for the overdue payment, such as failure to start a business or misappropriation for emergency use, prepare sufficient information, and express your willingness to actively repay the loan, the bank will consider it appropriately based on the cardholder's situation. If the bank agrees, the cardholder can discuss a new repayment plan with the bank, and then repay according to the new repayment plan.
3. Ensure smooth communication. If the bank cannot contact us when our credit card is overdue, it will cause the misunderstanding that we are avoiding repayment.
