After receiving your university admission letter, you should apply for a student visa. If the goal is to start in September, you should start the visa process around June. Below are the documents required to apply for a Canadian student visa. 1. Valid Passport

You need a valid passport to apply for a study permit. As a High Commission of Canada, it is important that your passport is valid for your intended stay in Canada. For example, if you plan to travel to Canada in September 2022 to attend a two-year course, your passport should be valid until at least September 2024. 2. Proof of admission from a designated learning institution

You will need a letter of admission from the university/college you plan to study. A designated learning institution is a university recognized by the Immigration Service. (Here is a list for your reference). If you apply to Quebec, you will also need a CAQ, which will be promptly notified. 3. Proof of funds

You must show proof of funds when applying for a study permit. Under current standards, you must demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to cover our tuition fees and living costs. Immigration Canada considers students to need at least $10,000 per year. In addition to the two items above, the student must also demonstrate that he/she has sufficient funds to attend the Return Fair. ?4. Passport size photos

If you have chosen to apply offline, you will need two passport size photos that meet the given criteria. For online applications, you must purchase a digital copy of the photo no larger than 4MB. Other requirements are standards regarding neutral facial expressions, solid color backgrounds, and no headgear (unless for religious purposes). 5. Immigration Medical Examination (IME)

The Canadian Immigration Service requires international students from India to undergo a mandatory immigration medical examination by a professional doctor. Students must make an appointment and visit the listed doctor for a medical examination, preferably one week before starting their visa application. This is to give the doctor enough time to verify and upload the necessary documents. It is always recommended to make an appointment in advance with the nearest facility/practitioner based on the list of nominated doctors. The specialist will perform a complete physical examination and may refer you for a chest X-ray and laboratory tests. After completing the exam, the doctor will send the results to CIC. 6. English Language Proficiency Test Score

While not mandatory at the time of application, we strongly recommend that you take and obtain your English Language Proficiency Score before starting the visa application process. In fact, you must submit your English language proficiency score to confirm your admission to a Canadian university. TOEFL, IELTS, etc. are all acceptable. 7. Statement of Purpose

When applying for a Canadian study permit, you will need to submit an essay describing your purpose for traveling to Canada and why you have chosen a particular institution. This will appear as an optional documentation prompt in the checklist, but we strongly recommend you submit the same. 8. Credit Card

If you apply online, you will also need a credit card to pay the application fee. The Canadian visa application fee is $160 CAD. Keep in mind that this system only accepts credit cards, not debit cards. Also, it doesn't have to be your credit card. You can also use your parent's card if you have explicit permission.
