What is "degaussing"?
Degaussing means that the magnetic particles on the magnetic card lose their magnetism. Generally speaking, there are three reasons for degaussing, one is external shock, the other is high temperature and the third is strong magnetic field. Placing the bank card near the mobile phone is the interference of magnetic field.
Working principle of bank card
First of all, introduce the working principle of bank card and magnetic card. Generally speaking, a bank card is a card that uses magnetism to store information. According to the different base materials (plastic plates), magnetic cards can be divided into three types: pet cards, PVC cards and paper cards. If classified according to the magnetic structure, it can be divided into two types: magnetic stripe card and full magnetic card.
At present, most bank cards are magnetic cards, and many ferromagnetic particles are evenly distributed on the magnetic stripe on the back. We can think of these small particles as a small compass. When the directions of these compasses are confused, the magnetic stripe does not show magnetism. But when all the compasses are in the same direction, they will show magnetism.
If the surface of the magnetic stripe is divided into many small units and the magnetism of each unit is controlled separately, the magnetic stripe carries information. When the bank card leaves the factory, the magnetic head of the card writer will emit a changing magnetic field, which will change the magnetic field of each cell on the magnetic stripe, thus writing the card number and other information on the magnetic stripe. The bank associates the account you set up in the bank computer system with the card number stored on the bank card. So you can use this bank card to access your account.
