What should I do if someone uses my ID card to apply for a credit card and doesn’t pay back the money?

If someone else uses your ID card to apply for a credit card and refuses to pay it back, just call the police directly.

(1) Pay attention to your own credit status. Currently, people’s banks everywhere can check your credit report with your ID card. Shanghai and other places are even opening online credit inquiry methods.

(2) If you are sure that you have not filled out a credit card application, you should immediately sue the bank in court and ask the bank to restore your credit record and eliminate the debt. When suing, you should ask for a handwriting appraisal of the application. This is the only and most recognized evidence by the court.

(3) Credit card purchases, card receipts and signatures within six months can be retrieved and can also be authenticated. If the bank intentionally delays the process beyond this time (you must provide evidence that you raised objections to the bank within six months), then the responsibility lies with the bank.
