Hulunbeier Cordyceps sinensis is located in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, which is one of the largest producing areas of grassland medicinal materials in China. Driven by Cordyceps militaris farmers' professional cooperatives, Cordyceps militaris has become the leading industry of farmers in this area, with per capita income exceeding 3,000 yuan in 2022.

Cordyceps sinensis is a fungus belonging to the genus Cordyceps. The base is annual, rod-shaped, leathery when fresh, light yellow at the base, yellow-brown in the middle, dark brown at the top, 6 cm long and 2 mm in diameter.
