Why are there bills after the credit card is cancelled?
Recently, a friend asked Bian Xiao that his credit card had been cancelled, but he still received a repayment reminder from the bank. What's going on here? This usually happens, probably because the merchants want money after the account is closed.

Credit card involves many factors, such as overdraft consumption, merchants' subsequent application, repayment period and so on. , so the logout process is very complicated. The cardholder's cancellation of credit card must be divided into two stages: "pre-cancellation account" and "formal cancellation account":

1. Pre-sale: When the cardholder applies to the bank for account cancellation, the bank will check his credit card account first. Credit card cancellation has a 45-day liquidation period. If the account shows that there is no debt, the bank will close the account for him.

2. Formal account cancellation: If it is confirmed that there is no debt in the cardholder's account within 45 days after account cancellation, or the cardholder has paid off all debts, the bank will go through the formal account cancellation procedures for the cardholder.

As mentioned above, after the cancellation of the credit card, my friend was still reminded by the bank that some overdraft bills came late, that is, the merchants asked for money after the cancellation. In other words, his credit card is only a pre-cancellation account, not a formal cancellation account.

Although his credit card can't be swiped at this time, because the account has not been officially cancelled, the cardholder can still log in to the online bank to check the account information. If there is debt due to the merchant's situation, the bank will officially cancel the account for it only after the final repayment date (inclusive).
