1. Electric light. In 1854, Henry Goebel, a German watchmaker who immigrated to the United States, used a carbonized bamboo wire placed in a vacuum glass bottle to make the first practical electric light.
2. Air conditioning. In 1902, Dr. Willis Carrier of the United States invented the first scientific air conditioning system.
3. Internet. The Internet began in the United States in 1969. It was first used for military connections by the US military under the agreement established by ARPA (Arpanet, US Defense Research Project Agency), and later used by the University of California, Los Angeles, Stanford University Graduate School, UCSB (University of California) and Utah in the southwestern United States. Four major computers at the state university are connected.
4. Mobile phone. In 1973, American Motorola engineer Martin Cooper invented the world's first commercial mobile phone.
5. Nylon. Nylon was developed by the outstanding American scientist Carothers and a scientific research team under his leadership. It is the first synthetic fiber in the world.
