pos error codes 45 and 82 are due to the restriction that many banks and banks across the country have stopped supporting the magnetic stripe transaction function for some bank cards and credit cards, and transactions must be done through IC cards. If the POS machine fails to swipe the card and prompts 45 or 82, it means that the card cannot be used for magnetic stripe card transactions and can only be used for IC mode card insertion transactions!
This situation is called a downgrade transaction.
The main reason is that cashiers have long developed the habit of swiping magnetic stripes to accept cards. On terminals that already have chip acceptance functions, cashiers still use magnetic stripes to accept financial IC cards. This operation reduces the security of financial IC card transactions, which is called a downgrade transaction in the industry.
Closing downgrade transactions means canceling the acceptance of magnetic stripe transactions in composite cards and changing to only accepting chip transactions. In short, for a composite card with a magnetic stripe chip, only the chip part can be used for transactions.
