Exam preparation
Take TOEFL or IELTS, GRE or GMAT (TOEFL and SAT for undergraduate students in North America, TOEFL and GRE for graduate students and GMAT for business graduate students). It will take a long time.
School choice
Choosing a school (this step is very important. You should decide which school is suitable for you according to your learning ability, language achievement, major direction, school location and economic ability. Choose a school that suits you best.
Online application and payment
Find the school official website that you want to apply for, create online application information, and pay the application fee by credit card (generally, it is recommended to apply for a school that you feel confident about, otherwise the application fee and mailing fee will be wasted).
Submit application materials
Submit application materials (transcripts, PS, resumes, language scores, teachers' letters of recommendation, bank deposit certificates, original transcripts and translations stamped by the school, personal reading certificates or Chinese and English graduation certificates, and copies of degree certificates. Note: If some universities in North America require WES-certified transcripts or academic certificates, it is best to apply as soon as possible, which will take some time. )。
Interview and expenses
After receiving the school offer and I-20, apply for a visa interview at the consulate in official website, and pay the visa fee and sevis fee.
Air tickets and accommodation
Go to the consulate for an interview with your passport and interview materials. After the visa is passed, book a plane ticket, contact the airport for pick-up and accommodation (if you live on campus, send an email or call the international affairs office of the school directly, and they will arrange pick-up in advance).
Physical examination and seedling raising
Before you leave, you must go to the local entry-exit inspection bureau for physical examination and vaccination, where you will get a small health certificate for leaving the country. Take it with you when you go abroad, and you can use it to set up health records for you when you go to school, otherwise some universities are not allowed to enter.
