Credit card article
Money is a big deal. In the United States, both bank cards and credit cards provide zero liability service, that is, if you notify the bank in time after the bank card or credit card is lost, you are not responsible for the lost consumption. (Some banks stipulate that there is a time limit for reporting the loss of bank cards, and reporting the loss within 48 hours or 72 hours is a "zero" responsibility. If the bank card is lost within the time limit, you need to bear certain responsibilities. Therefore, it is even more important to report the loss in time after discovering that the bank card is lost.
Call the bank customer service number
Similar to domestic procedures, you can call the customer service phone number of the relevant bank and report the loss independently according to its voice prompt.
After connecting with customer service, the bank will check your personal information, including driver's license number. After confirming that it is me, the bank will seal up the lost card and prevent anyone from using it, and then issue a new one.
Confirm bill binding
The new card will generally arrive within 5 working days, the card number will change, but the password will not change. The daily bills to be paid will not be affected, but it should be noted that if some previous daily consumption bills are bound with old cards, they need to be re-bound.
SSN article
(Social Security Number) SSN is translated as "Social Security Number", which is a 9-digit number on the American social security card. SSN was originally used to track individual's tax payment, but now its use has been expanded to include distinguishing individual's identity, similar to the function of "resident ID number" in China.
What is the social security number in the United States?
American social security card (work permit) is a personal account for Americans to declare their income and record their tax payment to the government. In the United States, in addition to paying taxes to the federal and local governments, every working class must also pay social security tax (FICA) and state disability insurance tax (SDI company). When the taxpayer is disabled, unemployed or retired in old age, the government will calculate the amount of subsidy that the taxpayer should receive according to the records in the account. In addition, the social security card (work card) is also an American identity card, so you must fill in the "social security number" when you apply for admission, loan, credit card and bank account opening.
If SSN is lost or stolen, you should apply to the Social Security Bureau for a social security card in time.
Personal treatment
The social security card application form and the office address of the Social Security Bureau can be found on the network of the Social Security Bureau of the United States, Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 5 pm.
Matters needing attention in student handling

J- 1 Students, student interns or international visitors need to provide a letter of introduction from the guarantor, which should be written on the head of the guarantor (such as a foreign school) and signed by themselves.
Issue SSN
After filling in and printing the SSN Card Application Form, mail or carry the application form and related materials to the local social security department. If the SSN is lost, you can ask for a replacement and get the original number; If SSN is stolen, it may be necessary to issue a new SSN.
The US Social Security Bureau recently issued regulations that a person can only change his social security card three times a year at most, and can only apply for changing his social security card ten times in his life. If you apply for changing your social security card frequently, it is likely to cause unnecessary trouble. (So don't bring your social security card at ordinary times)
Having said so many solutions, it is better to nip in the bud. Children who forget things easily at ordinary times must avoid carrying too many important identity documents with them. If it is inevitable, they should remember to put them in a fixed position, which will become a habit.
