First of all, make clear whether your quota is less than once or twice occasionally or not often. If the temporary credit limit is not enough, you can call the customer service phone of the issuing bank or go to the issuing bank to handle it in writing (in general, if the temporary credit limit to be increased is less than 30% of the original credit limit, such as the original credit limit of 5,000 yuan, the cardholder can apply to the credit card center directly by phone; If it exceeds this limit, it is necessary to submit a written application to the issuing bank to ask for an increase in the temporary limit. What needs to be explained here is that the issuing bank generally has requirements for cardholders who require a temporary increase in the limit, and usually requires cardholders to hold cards for more than 3 months. The term of temporary credit line is different according to the regulations of different banks, generally 1 ~ 3 months, and the original credit line will be restored after this period.
Usually, after calling the customer service of the issuing bank, the customer service staff will consider whether the credit limit can be temporarily adjusted and how much to increase according to your credit card usage time, consumption record and repayment record. If there is no problem with the information and records, it can generally be approved within 24 hours (some banks, such as China Merchants Bank, can approve it at that time), and it can be used immediately after approval (some banks need a period of time, depending on the specific regulations of the issuing bank). However, it should be noted that the consumption amount generated by using the temporary credit line may be different from ordinary repayment.
If your credit card limit is often insufficient, you should ask for an increase in the permanent limit. Under normal circumstances, the bank will require cardholders who apply for increasing the permanent limit to hold the card for more than half a year, and the consumption repayment during the card holding period is normal, and there is no bad repayment record. You can't apply for an increase in the permanent limit by telephone. You need to submit a formal application form for increasing the limit (provided by the issuing bank) and other supporting materials needed by the bank, such as your income certificate. Applicants can fax the application form and other information to the credit card center of the issuing bank without going to the bank counter.
It should be noted that it is not easy to make your consumption amount exceed the credit limit, otherwise there will be an over-limit fee. The so-called over-limit limit refers to the floating credit limit given to cardholders by the bank in addition to the credit limit approved by the issuing bank. However, when using this floating credit line, the bank will charge the excess fee according to the billing cycle (generally 5% of the excess). Therefore, if you need to spend a lot of money temporarily, you'd better ask the issuing bank to increase your temporary limit to avoid unnecessary over-limit fees.
