There are currently several payment methods for studying abroad:
1. Bank wire transfer
Bank wire transfer is the most traditional payment method, but it is time-consuming and cumbersome to operate. There is a limit on the foreign exchange quota, and the bank is not responsible for checking the accounts and will not proactively explain the issue of full payment.
2. Credit card
The payment feature of credit card is fast. But its handling fee is high, usually 2-3 or higher. If your tuition is about to be overdue and all other payment methods cannot make the tuition arrive in time, and you are a loser, then a credit card is your only option.
3. Money order
For money orders, the funds are first deposited into the corresponding bank, and then a money order is issued. The overseas bank uses the money order as a voucher to withdraw cash. The handling fees vary from bank to bank, and not every bank supports them. It can be said that the money order arrives in your account in real time. After all, you can withdraw cash as soon as you see the proof of the money order, so you don't have to worry about problems such as not being able to remit the money. But since it is banking business, it is inevitable to go to the bank to find a teller. It should be noted that the money order is a physical object. If the money order is lost, it will be like a dumb person eating coptis, and it will be hard to tell.
4. Cash
According to the relevant regulations of China Customs, carrying more than US$5,000 in cash requires customs declaration and payment of certain fees. If the total amount carried exceeds the equivalent of US$5,000, you must apply for a "Permit for Carrying Foreign Exchange Abroad" from the bank, and the amount carried shall not exceed the equivalent of US$10,000. If you fail to fill in the declaration form, you will face confiscation or fines. This method is not recommended. After all, in addition to the above requirements, carrying cash may also face the risk of loss.
5. Study Abroad
Study Abroad is a cross-border payment platform specially created for Chinese families studying abroad. It supports online operations, eliminating the traditional offline tedious processes of queuing, exchanging currency, and filling out wire transfer forms. The operation is simple and convenient, the account is received quickly, and it does not occupy the foreign exchange quota. The cost is also very low. It is recommended to operate in this way.
