Is a credit card payment one day late considered overdue? For most banks, it does not count. Many banks have a certain grace period for repayment dates. Most of them are within three days, and a few are one day or even no extension. Let’s take a look at what the situation is like.
If the repayment date is one or two days late, it may not be considered overdue. Many banks offer "forbearance" on credit card repayments, meaning that if you pay it after a few days, it won't be overdue. So, specifically, how many days are credit cards overdue?
Judging from the time regulations of banks in major cities, most credit cards of banks will not be overdue if they are three days late.
Although the time limit is 3 days, the specific deadline is different for each bank.
Among them, China Construction Bank will make real-time repayments before 7:00 a.m. on the third day of the repayment date, without overdue payment and no additional fees will be charged; China Merchants Bank will make repayments on the third day after the repayment date, 24 : 00 before repayment, it is not considered overdue; Bank of Communications before 9 pm on the third day after the repayment date, if it is not overdue, the automatic teller machine self-service equipment needs to be before 18:00 pm; CITIC Bank and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank must repay on the third day after the repayment date. , the loan is repaid before 8 pm, and the loan is not overdue; Hua Xia Bank repays it on the third day of the repayment date, and the loan is not overdue before 7 pm.
It should be noted that most credit cards of the bank have a 3-day period, but this does not mean that all credit cards of the bank have a 3-day period.
Take some ICBC credit cards for 3 days, including Car Plus Card, China Resources Communications Business Card, Zodiac Credit Card, Universe Constellation Card, Teacher Card, etc. However, some credit cards are not allowed, including China Travel Card, Cool Card, Baby Card, Chimelong Co-branded Credit Card, etc.
For credit cards without time limit, even if you pay back the money after a day or even a second, it is considered expired. People who hold these credit cards must pay attention to the repayment date, so they must pay back the money on time. It is best to use a savings card from the same bank for automatic repayment, and ensure that there is sufficient balance in the account for repayment on the repayment date.
What will be the consequences if we really delay repayment for something?
1. Credit card late payment fees. The so-called credit card late payment fee refers to the fee that the cardholder should pay to the card-issuing bank according to regulations when the cardholder fails to repay the loan before the due date (inclusive) or the repayment amount is lower than the minimum repayment amount.
2. Overdue interest. After using a credit card to overdraft, users generally have an interest-free repayment period of 20 to 50 days. If the cardholder fails to repay the loan, the cardholder will no longer enjoy the bank's interest-free treatment for all charges in the previous month, and the daily recurring interest rate is as high as 5/10000, which means the annual interest rate reaches 18%.
3. Bad credit record. Overdue credit card repayment records will be entered into the central bank's credit information system to generate bad credit records. China's personal credit information records have been networked across the country. As long as individual residents have applied for a loan at a bank, applied for a credit card or provided a guarantee for others, they can find a credit report at any commercial bank in China. If there is a stain on our credit, it will affect our future loans, including whether commercial loans can be converted into provident fund loans, etc.
4. Litigation costs. If the credit card repayment time exceeds 3 months, the bank will ask a lawyer to send a lawyer's letter to the user and file a lawsuit in court. The litigation costs will be borne by the cardholder.
5. Criminal liability for malicious overdraft. According to Article 196 of my country's Criminal Law and relevant judicial interpretations, malicious overdraft refers to the cardholder's behavior of overdrafting beyond the prescribed period or time limit for the purpose of illegal possession and still not returning it after being called by the card-issuing bank. Anyone who maliciously commits credit card overdraft fraud shall be held criminally responsible for the crime of credit card fraud and shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than five years or criminal detention, and shall also be fined not less than 20,000 yuan but not more than 200,000 yuan
