There are three ways to activate the medical insurance card:
1. The insured person needs to bring his or her social security card and original identity certificate to the corresponding bank branch to activate the social security card. After activation, the medical insurance card will be activated. The account will be restored to normal.
2. Use the social security card in designated medical insurance hospitals to directly activate the social security function. When the insured person uses the social security card for the first time at a designated medical institution, he only needs to handle the normal outpatient or inpatient registration business, and the social security function can be directly activated.
3. When the insured person uses the social security card for the first time at a designated medical insurance pharmacy, he or she must insert the original medical insurance card, and then insert the social security card as required to activate the social security card.

Social security card activation period
The insured person can activate the social security application after receiving the card from the human resources and social security department. Within 300 days from the date of receiving the card, bring the card with your valid ID to the corresponding cooperative bank branch of the financial account to activate financial applications, otherwise the social security application of the card will be reported as lost.
If the insured really has something that cannot be handled in person, he or she can entrust someone else to handle it. When entrusting another person to handle the matter, the entrusted person must present his or her ID card, the insured's ID card, and a power of attorney.
If the card social security application is reported lost because the financial application is not activated, the cardholder needs to activate the card financial application and go to the location designated by the human resources and social security department to unregister the card social security application.
