If the response code error 05 appears when swiping the card at the POS machine, it means the transaction failed. Please contact the card issuing bank. This error code generally means that the card is frozen or inactive, and transactions cannot be performed;
Authentication failed, please note the following:
1. Please check whether the information is correct.
2. Check whether the credit card has just been opened. New cards are not allowed. At least one bill must be issued.
3. Ask the customer whether the card is enabled for cardless payment. If not, just go to the bank to enable it and re-authenticate it.
4. Check the status of the card. If the magnetic stripe card is often placed with a metal mobile phone, it will be demagnetized, and whether it is an inactive card.
5. Did you enter too many incorrect passwords on other machines that day, causing the card to be locked? Finally, check to see if the card has expired.
It may be the problem with the POS machine
(1) If you change a card and it still prompts that the cardholder authentication failed, then it is a problem with the POS machine.
(2) First check the signal strength of the POS machine. Traditional machines are connected through mobile networks. If it is in a place with very poor signal and cannot receive return data, it may prompt when the transaction fails: Cardholder authentication failed.
(3) Solution: Shut down and restart, sign in again, move to a location with better signal, and try to swipe the card again.
