(1) Banking supervision. The United States is a federal country. Financial market access is subject to the two-level system of federal government permission and state government permission. Commercial banks approved by the federal government are supervised by the Bureau of Monetary Supervision of the Ministry of Finance. Commercial banks approved by the state government are supervised by state-level financial supervision departments.
(2) Securities and futures industry supervision. In the field of securities and futures, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) performs supervisory functions on securities institutions, securities information disclosure, stock exchanges, over-the-counter transactions and securities associations. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is responsible for supervising the information disclosure of futures brokerage institutions, futures markets and futures exchanges.
(3) Insurance supervision. In the field of insurance, insurance institutions are supervised by local state supervision bureaus (offices).
