Iron concentrate with TFe≥7 1.5% and hydrochloric acid insoluble matter ≤0.3% is called ultra-pure iron concentrate. Ultrapure iron concentrate is mainly used in powder metallurgy industry.

Concentrate powder is divided into various concentrate powders according to different mineral processing methods, such as magnetic separation, flotation and gravity separation.

Iron ore is an important raw material for iron and steel production enterprises. Natural ore (iron ore) is gradually separated by crushing, grinding, magnetic separation, flotation, gravity separation and other processes. It is an economic mineral aggregate containing simple iron or iron compounds.

Several important iron ores:

(1) Magnetite: It is an oxidized iron ore, and its main component is Fe3O4, which is a compound of Fe2O3 and FeO. It is dark gray with a specific gravity of about 5. 15, containing 72.4% iron and 27.6% oxygen, and is magnetic. Magnetic separation can be used for mineral processing, which is very convenient; However, it has poor reducibility due to its fine structure. After long-term weathering, it becomes hematite.

(2) Hematite: It is also an oxidized iron ore. Its main component is Fe2O3, which is dark red with a specific gravity of about 5.26. It contains 70% Fe and 30% O, and is the most important iron ore. According to different structural conditions, it can be divided into hematite, specularite, mica iron ore and argillaceous hematite.

(3) Limonite: This is an ore containing iron hydroxide. It is the general name of goethite HFeO2 _ 2 and lepidolite FeO(OH). Someone wrote the chemical formula of its main component as MFE2O _ 3. NH2O, khaki or brown, contains about 62% Fe, 27% O, 1 1% H2O, with a specific gravity of about 3.6 ~ 4.0, and most of it is attached to other iron ores.

(4) siderite: It is an ore containing ferrous carbonate, and its main component is FeCO3, which is bluish gray with a specific gravity of about 3.8. Most of these ores contain a lot of calcium and magnesium salts. Because carbonate will absorb a lot of heat and release carbon dioxide at a high temperature of about 800 ~ 900℃, we usually roast this ore before adding it to the blast furnace.

(5) Sulfide iron ore: This ore contains FeS2, with only 46.6% iron and 53.4% sulfur. Grayish yellow, with a specific gravity of about 4.95 ~ 5. 10. However, the mine often contains many precious metals such as copper, nickel, zinc, gold and silver, so it is often used as raw materials for other metal smelting industries. Because it contains a lot of sulfur, it is often used to extract sulfuric acid and sulfur.
