I want to work in an investment bank, can I?
Hello, I work in an investment bank. It's hard to get into the exam with your present conditions, so take the postgraduate entrance examination first. Talk about my opinion:

1. An investment bank refers to a financial company whose main business is the capital market. Foreign investment banking business is more comprehensive. They not only do business such as enterprise listing, merger and reorganization, but also involve the use of many financial derivatives. Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and UBS are famous foreign investment banks. To be honest, it is still very difficult to enter these foreign investment banks. Not many students can enter Tsinghua Peking University every year. They are all very talented people, with excellent study, rich internship experience, complete certificates, and good English ability and statistical software operation ability. Before the financial crisis broke out, foreign investment banks devoted themselves to developing complex financial derivatives, and often recruited a group of graduate students in mathematics or physics from Tsinghua Peking University to Wall Street. In contrast, studying finance or finance itself has no advantage. If you want to enter a foreign investment bank, you'd better take an examination of Beijing and Beijing's graduate students and go to the United States to study for a Ph.D. in finance at a prestigious school. This possibility is relatively large.

2. Investment banks in China actually refer to securities companies. Generally speaking, China's investment banks are the investment banking departments of securities companies, mainly engaged in listing, mergers and acquisitions and other businesses. This is a relatively narrow investment banking business. Because China's capital market is less developed than that of foreign countries, there are almost no financial derivatives (we only launched margin financing and stock index futures this year). The first investment bank in China was China International Capital Corporation (CICC). Personally, I feel that its business is similar to that of other securities companies, but there are more employees and businesses with overseas backgrounds. In this case, you can go to the investment banking department of domestic securities companies to work hard. Although the treatment is not as good as that of foreign investment banks, it is second to none in China. However, with the hot capital market in recent years, the requirements for securities companies are also very high, and they are basically masters of prestigious schools.

With your bachelor's degree, the possibility of entering an investment bank in this situation is almost zero, and you are not majoring in finance or finance. Personally, I feel that you don't know much about investment banking. It is still necessary to understand what this industry does first, so as to learn more pertinently. Some useful certificates, such as CPA, CFA, FRM, securities qualification certificate, etc. To go to a foreign investment bank, it is best to take CFA, which is of course very expensive. If you go to domestic investment banks, then certified public accountants and securities qualification certificates are compulsory.

If you really want to work in investment banking, it is necessary to get a certificate, go to graduate school, practice and even have relationships. Jilin University is still very good, and so is your undergraduate major. If you go to an investment bank, try to go to Tsinghua Peking University. Because I have almost stopped recruiting undergraduates. Even if some investment banks want undergraduate courses, you need to have relevant work experience. You can ask me again if you don't understand.
