NBR is made of butadiene and acrylonitrile by emulsion polymerization. Nitrile rubber is mainly produced by low-temperature emulsion polymerization, which has excellent oil resistance, high wear resistance, good heat resistance and strong adhesion. Its disadvantages are poor low temperature resistance, poor ozone resistance, poor electrical performance and slightly lower elasticity. In addition, it also has good water resistance, air tightness and excellent adhesion. It is widely used to make all kinds of oil-resistant rubber products, all kinds of oil-resistant gaskets, washers, sleeves, soft packages, hoses, printing and dyeing cots, cable rubber materials and so on. , has become an indispensable elastic material in automobile, aviation, petroleum, photocopying and other industries. NBR has excellent oil resistance, second only to polysulfide rubber and fluororubber, and has good wear resistance and air tightness. The disadvantage of NBR is that it is not resistant to ozone and aromatic, halogenated hydrocarbon, ketone and ester solvents, so it is not suitable for insulating materials.
EPDM is a terpolymer of ethylene, propylene and unconjugated diene. Dienes have a special structure, and only one of the two bonds can be copolymerized. Unsaturated double bonds are mainly used as crosslinking bonds. The other unsaturated one will not become the main chain of the polymer, but only the side chain. The main polymer chain of EPDM is completely saturated. This characteristic makes EPDM resistant to heat, light, oxygen and especially ozone. EPDM is essentially nonpolar, resistant to polar solutions and chemicals, with low water absorption and good insulation characteristics. In the production process of EPDM, its characteristics can be adjusted by changing the number of three monomers, ethylene-propylene ratio, molecular weight and its distribution and vulcanization mode.
