The National Development and Reform Commission announced the evaluation results of national third-tier cities. Among the four cities in Hunan Province, Zhuzhou was successfully selected.

Zhuzhou City, located in the north-central part of Hunan Province, is the fourth largest city and an important industrial city in Hunan Province. Zhuzhou City is an important non-ferrous metal industrial base in China, which is rich in mineral resources such as zinc, lead and tin, and is one of the industrial pillars of Hunan Province. Being selected as a national third-tier city this time is an important opportunity and challenge for Zhuzhou City.
