Methanol, also known as wood essence and wood alcohol, is a colorless and slightly mellow volatile liquid. It is one of the important chemicals in the production of synthetic gas, which is not only an important chemical raw material, but also a fuel.
Methanol classification
Methanol is generally divided into industrial methanol, fuel methanol and denatured methanol, with industrial methanol as the main one.
1. industrial methanol
All products synthesized from coal, tar, natural gas, light oil and heavy oil. Its quality index meets the requirements of national standard GB 338-2004, and it is industrial methanol.
2. Fuel methanol
Crude methanol is dehydrated and refined, and anhydrous methanol used as fuel is called fuel methanol. Fuel methanol has no denaturant, and its cost is often lower than that of industrial methanol, because it is only required to be flammable and anhydrous.
3. Denatured methanol
Denatured methanol refers to fuel methanol or industrial methanol added with methanol denaturant.
Denatured fuel methanol is a kind of methanol which is specially used to prepare vehicle methanol gasoline after adding a certain proportion of vehicle methanol gasoline additives to industrial methanol.
Use of methanol
1. Organic chemical raw materials
It can be used to produce a series of organic chemical products such as formaldehyde, dimethyl ether, methyl methacrylate and synthetic rubber.
2. Energy and automobile fuel
Gasoline can be added to burn or replace gasoline as power fuel.
3. Pesticide raw materials
Is a raw material for produce pesticides such as trichlorfon, methyl parathion and carbendazim.
4. Feed raw materials
Methanol protein can be produced by biological fermentation and used as feed additive.
