Does lng have futures?
Lng has no futures, while NYMEX in new york trades natural gas futures contracts. There are two main trade forms of LNG: futures and spot. Futures include long-term contracts, medium-term contracts and short-term contracts. In order to lock in profits and reduce risks, developers of lng projects usually sign long-term contracts first, then short-term contracts, and finally sell the residues on the spot.

I. What is LNG?

LNG is the abbreviation of liquefied natural gas. Natural gas is a combustible gas naturally produced in oil and gas fields, and its main component is methane. LNG condenses gaseous natural gas into liquid by cooling to-162 at atmospheric pressure. Liquefied natural gas can greatly save storage space and has the characteristics of large calorific value and high performance. Liquefied natural gas is a clean and efficient energy source. Importing LNG is helpful to the diversification of energy supply and energy security in energy consuming countries, and exporting LNG is helpful to natural gas producing countries to effectively develop natural gas resources, increase foreign exchange income and develop national economy, so LNG trade has become a new hot spot in the world energy market.

1, international aspect

Compared with the same period of last year, the international LNG price has also risen sharply this year, which is due to the rising international crude oil price and the increasing demand for LNG in Asia.

2. Domestic aspects

From the domestic supply side, PetroChina 23 underground gas storage began to fully inject gas in April, and the gas volume in the export pipeline was relatively reduced. Sinopec Tianjin LNG receiving station has also been overhauled for about half a month recently, and the LNG supply in North China has decreased accordingly. In addition, at the end of June, some LNG plants were intensively inspected, and some gas LNG plants were shut down for maintenance due to environmental problems. Under the condition that the downstream demand is not reduced, the upstream gas restriction and LNG plant shutdown inspection have aggravated the supply shortage in LNG market.

With the sustained and rapid development of China's economy, the energy power to ensure the economy is very insufficient. China's energy structure is dominated by coal, with oil and natural gas accounting for only a small proportion, far below the world average. With the increase of national energy demand, the introduction of LNG plays an important role in optimizing China's energy structure, effectively solving the dual problems of energy supply security and ecological environment protection, and realizing sustainable economic and social development.
