Professor Song Fengming’s main academic contribution is to take the lead in advocating and introducing the new discipline of “financial engineering” in China, and actively promote the modernization and internationalization of domestic financial discipline construction. He has published nearly 100 papers, including nearly 50 academic papers in important international and domestic journals (including papers indexed by SSCI, SCI, ABI, and EI). Published 8 academic works (including 5 translations), among which "Principles of Financial Engineering - Analysis of No-Arbitrage Equilibrium" won the first prize for outstanding research achievements in philosophy and social sciences in Beijing, and "Introduction to Financial Economics" was selected as one of the "Top Ten" in general higher education. National planning textbooks for the Five-Year Plan and the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, as well as "Modern Commercial Bank Management" are representative works. He also presided over and built the national and Beijing quality course "Financial Engineering". Professor Song's research results are divided into three categories. The first is basic research and applied research on financial engineering combined with China's actual conditions. The contents include: (1) Research on China's stock haircut rate; (2) China's stock market volatility and liquidity Research; (3) Research on the relationship between volume and price in China's stock market; (4) Research on the initial rate of return of China's stock market; (5) Research on rational expectations, technical analysis and efficiency of China's stock market; (6) Research on the microstructure of China's stock market; China Research on the term structure of interest rates in the bond market; (7) Default correlation and credit risk measurement; (8) Research on pricing of credit derivatives and structured products. The second is the basic theoretical research on financial economics, including: (1) risk measurement research; (2) asset pricing analysis; (3) corporate governance research; (4) corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions research; (5) RMB Research on exchange rates and other economic issues. Third, research on innovative methodologies includes: (1) Fine simulation technology and artificial financial market research; (2) Nonlinear exchange rate models and artificial neuron network technology; (3) Credit derivatives pricing engine design; (4) ) Investment decision-making analysis supported by artificial intelligence and knowledge engineering. Professor Song Fengming also won the Beijing Distinguished Teaching Teacher Award. He published in the Journal of Economic Research. The papers he has published include "A Test of Rational Expectations in China's Stock Market."

Papers published in the journal "Financial Research" include "Engineering of Financial Science", "Rethinking the Separate Operation System of Commercial Banks and Investment Banks", "Research on the Initial Return of the A-Share Market after the Issuance Price-to-Earning Ratio is Liberalized" , "Information sources of individual stocks and leading stock effects", "Empirical research on the volatility characteristics of China's stock market", "The impact of cash dividends on stock return fluctuations and fundamental information correlation". The curriculum projects he is responsible for include: the "National and Beijing Excellent Courses" that he presided over in 2006, and the "Bilingual Teaching Demonstration Course" of the Ministry of Construction in 2007.

From 1970 to 1979, Professor Song Fengming worked at the Nantong Diesel Engine Factory in Jiangsu Province, serving as a worker, purchaser, technician and other positions. From 1982 to 1988, he worked at Jiangsu University of Science and Technology as a lecturer and deputy director of the Management Department. In the academic field, Professor Song is the deputy secretary-general, executive director, academic committee member of the China Society for Finance and Banking, president of the Financial Engineering Research Society (later renamed the Financial Engineering Professional Committee), standing director of the China Quantitative Economics Society, and chairman of the Quantitative Finance Professional Committee. , executive director of China Urban Finance Society, member of the academic committee, and executive director of China Rural Finance Society. In the field of commercial and social institutions, he served as an independent director of China Construction Bank from 2004 to 2010 and as its supervisor since 2010. Since 2004, he has served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Tsinghua Holdings Co., Ltd. Since 2006, he has served as co-director of the China Financial Research Center at Tsinghua University. He is a part-time researcher at the Fiscal and Financial Policy Research Center of Renmin University of China and a part-time professor at several financial institutions. Journals such as "China Securities Journal" and "Children of China" commented that he is "the 'pioneer' and 'guide' of my country's financial engineering" and "the father of China's financial engineering." The British "Financial Times" rated him as "the 'Leading Thinker' of China's finance."
