Liu Jun's resume
Liu Jun (1975-2004) In amateur chess, Liu Jun is the absolute king. Won 1996 and 1997 national evening paper cup amateur weiqi competition and Yellow River Cup, and won 15+. In addition to these dazzling achievements, Liu Jun ignored his internal diseases, worked hard for many years, played hard, persuaded the younger generation, and treated others with humility. These qualities are even more impressive and unforgettable.

On March 6th, 2004, Liu Jun, a 29-year-old Shanghai chess player, suddenly fell into a coma while taking a bath at home, and died when he was taken to the hospital. The police basically determined that he died of a heart attack. Nie Weiping Jiu Duan, who was invited to speak for the Chinese-Korean Weiqi Trilateral Chess Competition, learned the bad news on the plane from Beijing to Chengdu. Lao Nie sighed: "What a pity!"

Liu Jun, 29, left in a way that no one expected.

Liu Jun once said that he was particularly impressed by leap years, not because he was superstitious, but because in two consecutive leap years, two major events happened in his life, one joy and one sadness.

1September 22, 992, it will always be dark for Liu Jun. On that day, he will leave the National Training Bureau building where he stayed for three years, and the black and white world that fascinated him. Being diagnosed with congenital heart disease, becoming a professional chess player became Liu Jun's dream. Everyone still remembers the last look left by Liu Jun at noon that day, because he could not bear it, because he was unwilling. In fact, before that, Liu Jun had been very successful. He joined the Shanghai team before the age of 65,438+05, and joined the national youth team in the same year, and was quickly promoted to the third level of occupation. Everything shows that he will become an excellent professional chess player. However, fate played a joke on him.

Although he left the junior national team, Liu Jun's insistence on Go has not changed. After returning to Shanghai, Liu Jun became a member of the Youth Go Team of Shanghai Post and Telecommunications Building through the recommendation of his tutor Qiu Bairui, and soon became a full-time employee of the building, starting his amateur chess career. In the next four years, Liu Jun spent all his spare time in black and white. Finally, his persistence touched God and ushered in a leap year of great significance.

1On September 22nd, 996, when Liu Jun walked from the most luxurious five-star hotel in Seoul, South Korea to the game room and participated in the first round of the World Professional Go Competition "Samsung Cup of Fire", he became the happiest person in the world, because he was the first and only amateur chess player in the world who could participate in the World Professional Go Competition. Although Liu Jun finally lost to the then "multi-material" world champion, South Korean player Xu Fengzhu Jiu Duan, he established his position as an amateur chess player in China's amateur Go field. Since then, Liu Jun has also started to participate in some professional chess players' competitions in China, and defeated Wang Hui as the "newcomer king" in 1997, which is also the best achievement Liu Jun has achieved in the professional Go competition.

March 16, 2004 is another leap year. On this day, he quietly left with his national evening paper cup champion, world amateur champion and China newcomer Wang and other honors.
