Brief introduction of Stoxx 50 index in Europe
The index was designed by Euro stoxx 50 and launched on February 28th. 1998. The benchmark value is 1000 points, and the benchmark date is 199 1,12,31,and it is planned to be revised once a year in September. The index is regarded by the financial and securities circles as an indicator index reflecting the overall situation of the stock prices of large listed companies in the euro zone. The weighting method of the European STOXX50 index is based on the floating market value of its 50 constituent stocks, and the upper limit of the weight of any constituent stock in the index is set to 10%. The constituent stocks of STOXX50 index cover most industries such as banking, public utilities, insurance, telecommunications, energy, science and technology, chemicals, industrial products, automobiles, food and beverage, medical care and raw materials. Based on this index, various exchanges can develop exchange-traded funds (ETFs), futures, options and other related financial derivatives for investors to choose from.
