Rice produced by early rice is called early indica rice or early rice, which has poor taste and is generally used as industrial grain or reserve grain.
Semi-late-maturing rice is a kind of medium-maturing rice between early-maturing and late-maturing in season. Generally, it matures in early autumn, and most medium japonica varieties have moderate photosensitivity. The days from sowing to heading vary greatly in different regions and different sowing dates. In case of short sunshine and high temperature, the growth period is shortened. The photosensitivity of medium indica rice varieties is weaker than that of medium japonica rice, and the days from sowing to heading change little, which is relatively stable and has wide adaptability. Late-maturing early indica rice in South China can be planted as mid-season rice when it is introduced into rice areas in the Yangtze River basin.
According to the growth period, sowing period, growth period and maturity period, it is divided into early rice, middle rice and late rice. Generally, the growth period is 90 ~ 120 days for early rice, 120 ~ 150 days for middle rice and170 days for late rice. Early rice generally has a big belly, less hard grains, loose rice quality and poor quality, and late rice quality is better.
