As receivers of information, how do we listen to information?
For example: Before class, Xiao Ming ran to the teacher and said, "Xiaomei from our class threw away the atlas." Different teachers may have different reactions. Some teachers will ask, "Did he do this on purpose?" Some teachers will say, "Xiao Ming, are you angry?" Some teachers will say, "I'm glad you believe me." Most teachers will probably say , "Then I'll go see what's going on."
You see, different teachers will give different feedback on the same information. What does this mean? It shows that each of us listens to the same message with different ears. This is the concept of "four ears". If everyone chooses different ears, they will understand the other party's expression focus differently.
The first ear is the factual ear: what facts are the other party saying?
The second ear is the relationship ear: what is the other person’s attitude toward me and what is my image in the other person’s mind.
The third ear is the self-expression ear: what content and emotions he wants to express.
The fourth ear is the ear of appeal: what exactly does he want me to do.
