Dalian belongs to the north of our country. Geographical boundary between north and south of China: Qinling and Huaihe. Dalian is located at the southern tip of Liaodong Peninsula, on the coast of the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea, backed by the northeast hinterland of China, and across the sea from Shandong Peninsula. It is an important economic, trade, port, industrial and tourist city along the eastern coast of China.

Dalian has a superior environment and is known as "the window to the northeast", "the pearl of the north" and "the romantic city". It is the window of northeast China and the largest port city. It has successively won the honors of international garden city, China's best tourist city and national environmental protection model city. Dalian is the permanent host city of the World Economic Forum (WEF) summer Davos, with the largest agricultural futures exchange in China and the second largest soybean futures market in the world: Dalian Commodity Exchange.
