Chemical fiber is a kind of fiber with textile properties, which is made from natural polymer compounds or synthetic polymer compounds through the preparation, spinning and post-treatment of spinning dope. The length, thickness, whiteness and luster of the fiber can be adjusted in the production process. And it has the advantages of light resistance, wear resistance, easy washing and drying, no mildew, no moth and so on. Widely used in the manufacture of clothing fabrics, filter cloth, conveyor belts, hoses, ropes, fishing nets, electrical insulation wires, medical sutures, tire cords and parachutes. Generally, polymer compounds can be made into solutions or melts, extruded from spinnerets, and then solidified into fibers.
Products can be continuous filaments, short fibers cut to a certain length or uncut tows. With regard to the commodity names of chemical fibers, China has temporarily stipulated that synthetic staple fibers should be called "nylon" (such as nylon and polyester), cellulose staple fibers should be called "fiber" (such as viscose fiber and cuprammonia fiber), and the word "silk" should be added at the end of filament fibers, or "nylon" and "fiber" should be changed to "silk".
