Datong Securities, formerly known as 1988, was established as "Shanxi-Hebei Inner Mongolia Monti Datong Securities Company" with the approval of the head office of the People's Bank of China. It is one of the earliest 32 securities companies established in the history of China securities.

On February 20 13, the registered capital of the company increased to RMB 500 million. 20 15 the company name was changed to "Datong Securities Co., Ltd." and the registered capital was increased to RMB 730 million. [1] The company is now a member of Shanghai Stock Exchange, Shenzhen Stock Exchange, China Securities Association, China Futures Association, China Asset Management Association, national debt association of china, China Interbank Market Dealers Association, and a member of the national interbank lending market, with 42 branches in China.
