In terms of types, "onshore" regasification terminals still dominate; From the perspective of regional distribution, "regasification" is a necessary link for imported LNG to be converted into natural gas and enter the terminal consumption, so it is closely related to the regional distribution of global LNG imports.
1, LNG regasification capacity will reach 947 million tons in 2020.
With the steady growth of LNG import and export trade, the global LNG regasification terminal capacity is also increasing. According to the latest data released by GIIGNL, the annual output of global LNG regasification will reach 947 million tons in 2020, an increase of 27 million tons compared with 20 19.
In 2020, the new global LNG regasification capacity will mainly come from Brazil, where two floating regasification terminals will be put into operation, with a total annual production capacity of 1 1.2 million tons. Meanwhile, in 2020, four expansion projects will be completed in the world, including three in China and one in Japan 1, increasing the regasification capacity by about 5.8 million tons/year.
2. The "onshore" regasification terminal is still dominant.
According to different geographical locations, LNG regasification terminals can be divided into onshore terminals and floating terminals. By the end of 2020, the global LNG regasification capacity will still be mainly on land, reaching 838 million tons; The floating LNG regasification terminal is 6.5438+0.9 million tons.
3.LNG import volume is the key factor affecting LNG regasification capacity.
After the LNG is transported from the exporting country to the importing country, it needs to go through the "regasification" link before it can be finally consumed. From the regional distribution of regasification capacity, in 2020, Asia is the region with the largest regasification capacity of LNG in the world, with an annual production capacity of 532 million tons, accounting for 56% of the global share. This is mainly because Asia is the world's largest importer of LNG, accounting for 765,438+0% in 2020.
From the national ranking, in 2020, the top four countries in LNG regasification capacity are Japan, the United States, South Korea and China, among which the annual capacity of LNG regasification in Japan can reach 22 1000 tons, mainly because Japan is the country with the largest LNG import, and "regasification" is a necessary link for LNG to be converted into natural gas and enter the terminal consumption.
