Differences between Japonica Rice and Rice
Many people often eat rice, but their understanding of rice is not particularly clear. Generally speaking, rice is divided into japonica rice and indica rice according to varieties. Indica rice is planted in the south and japonica rice is planted in the north. The rice produced by these two kinds of rice is called japonica rice and indica rice respectively.
So if there is a difference, it can only be said that it is the difference between japonica rice and indica rice.

① Fundamental difference
Rice, also known as "rice", is divided into three types: japonica rice, indica rice and glutinous rice. Therefore, japonica rice belongs to rice and is one of the varieties of rice.
Rice is divided into three categories: indica rice, japonica rice and glutinous rice. Japonica rice is made of non-waxy japonica rice, and the rice grains are generally oval. According to the harvest season of japonica rice, it can be divided into early japonica rice and late japonica rice.

② Difference of planting environment
In terms of planting environment, indica rice is more suitable for planting in low latitude and low altitude hot and humid areas, such as southern China. Generally, according to the different planting environment, it can be divided into two planting modes for one year or three planting modes for two years.
Japonica rice grows in some areas with higher latitudes and altitudes. For example, in the rice-growing areas of northeast, north and northwest China, most areas are generally planted once a year.

③ Quality difference
The difference between japonica rice and rice can be seen not only from the surface, but also from the quality. Japonica rice tastes soft and tough after cooking. Moreover, cooked rice is more elastic and fat.
④ Appearance difference
Japonica rice and ordinary rice are two different kinds of rice, with the same planting method and processing technology, and no difference in appearance. They are the same shape, but the colors are slightly different-japonica rice is waxy and white.
⑤ Nutritional differences
Japonica rice can improve human immunity and promote blood circulation, thus reducing the chance of getting sick. Japonica rice contains a variety of sugars and protein, which is the main source of human energy.
Japonica rice is the staple food, which provides energy and supplements nutrition; Japonica rice soup is a good dietotherapy method for deficiency syndrome. It is suitable for women with physical weakness, high fever, early recovery from long illness, postpartum and the elderly to eat japonica rice.
The rice we usually eat contains more B vitamins, which is an important food to prevent beriberi and eliminate oral inflammation.
Rice is cooked into porridge, which has the function of strengthening the spleen and stomach; Drinking rice soup has the function of nourishing and benefiting qi, which can stimulate gastric juice secretion, help digestion and promote fat absorption and utilization. There are basically no taboos in the consumption of rice, and everyone can eat it.
⑥ Yield difference
The yield of rice is much higher than that of japonica rice, so the planting area of rice is much wider.
