How to read billet
Pronunciation: [gā ng pā].

The billet is actually the familiar billet, the initial embryonic form of steel in the steel production industry, and also the semi-finished product of steel building materials. General steel building materials, such as steel bars, steel plates, etc., are all made of billet after heating and rolling under strong pressure. After this process, billet becomes a building material that we often see on the construction site.

From the production principle, steel billets are generally produced by three industrial technologies. The first one is obtained by casting molten iron from a steel-making furnace through a mold. The second is the heating and rolling of the original ingot. The third and original ingot was processed with forging equipment different from the previous one. How to operate these three situations requires professional related personnel.

From the appearance, there are two kinds of billets, namely slab and billet. These two kinds of semi-finished billets will also be used to cast steel building materials with different uses and styles in the actual steel manufacturing industry. For example, in daily life, the first one is usually used to make plates, and the second one is mostly used to make wires.

In many cases, billet needs to be processed twice to form usable steel, but in some special cases, it is necessary to use billet directly.
