Since 2002, the electrolytic aluminum industry in China has been overcapacity. In 2008, the surplus of electrolytic aluminum in China reached 500,000 tons due to the decline in demand of downstream industries. Using alumina as solute, carbon as anode, and aluminum liquid as cathode, after introducing strong direct current, electrochemical reaction is carried out at the two poles in the electrolytic cell at the temperature of 950-970℃, that is, electrolysis. Aluminum electrolysis production can be divided into three categories: side-inserted anode rod self-baking tank, up-inserted anode rod self-baking tank and prebaked anode tank.
Extended data:
Production cost of electrolytic aluminum:
1, raw materials: alumina, cryolite, aluminum fluoride, additives (calcium fluoride, magnesium fluoride, etc. ), anode material;
2. Energy costs: electricity (DC and AC) and fuel;
3. Labor costs: wages and other management expenses;
4. Other expenses: equipment loss and depreciation, financial expenses, transportation expenses, taxes, etc.
