Precipitated silica is also called hydrated silica, active silica, light silica, precipitated silica and precipitated hydrated silica; White carbon black for short; Molecular formula: SiO2 * nH2O, CAS number: 14464-46- 1.

Precipitated silica is a high-tech inorganic fine chemical product, and its main component is silica. Its performance is similar to that of carbon black. It is white amorphous fine powder with light weight, the original particle size is below 0.3μm, the relative density is 2.3 19 ~ 2.653, and the melting point is 1750℃. After absorbing moisture, polymer fine particles are formed, which have high insulation and are insoluble in water and acid. Soluble in caustic soda and hydrofluoric acid, it does not decompose at high temperature, has water absorption, shows chemical inertia to matrix, active ingredients and additives, and has good compatibility with various active ingredients commonly used in vitamins, hormones, fluorides, antibiotics, enzyme preparations and cosmetics. Because of its porosity and large specific surface area, it has great dispersibility in raw rubber. Filled rubber shows high reinforcement.
