Location:
Zhanjiang City is located at the southernmost tip of Chinese mainland, in the southwest of Guangdong Province, with east longitude10931'-1055' and north latitude 20-2 1 35', including all of Leizhou Peninsula and a part of the northern peninsula.
It borders the South China Sea and Hainan Province, a special economic zone in the east, Qiongzhou Strait in the south, Beibu Gulf in the west, Hepu, Bobai and Luchuan counties in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the northwest and Maonan District, Huazhou and Dianbai counties in Maoming City in the northeast. The urban area is located in the northeast of Leizhou Peninsula, with east longitude 1 10 4' and north latitude 2 1 12'.

Geography:
Most of Zhanjiang's land consists of peninsulas and islands, with high terrain in the north and low terrain in the south, with the bimodal cockroach (382 meters) in Lianjiang City in the north as the highest point. Of the city's total area, plains account for 66%, hills account for 30.6% and mountains account for 3.4%.
The larger rivers in Zhanjiang are: Jianjiang River, which flows 46 kilometers through Wuchuan City; Jiuzhou River, which flows 89 kilometers through Lianjiang City; Nandu River flows through Leizhou City for 88 kilometers.
Climate:
Zhanjiang, located in the south of the Tropic of Cancer, has a subtropical climate and is regulated by maritime climate.
