What is galvanized coil? Properties of galvanized coil.
1. What is galvanized coil?
Galvanized coil is produced by continuous hot galvanizing process with hot rolled steel strip or cold rolled steel strip as base material. Hot-dip galvanized sheet is supplied by rectangular flat plate after crosscutting; Hot-dip galvanized coils supplied in the form of coils are adopted.
Galvanized coil can be divided into hot-rolled galvanized coil and cold-rolled galvanized coil, which are mainly used in construction, household appliances, automobiles, containers, transportation, home industry and other fields. Especially in steel structure construction, automobile manufacturing, steel warehouse manufacturing and other industries. Their main characteristics are: strong corrosion resistance, good surface quality, easy processing, economy and practicality.
Second, the performance of galvanized coil
Thickness of galvanized coil: 1.2-2.0(mm) Width: 1250(mm) Name: galvanized coil
Performance: Low carbon steel grades are mainly used, which requires good cold bending and welding performance and certain stamping performance. Application fields Cold rolled strip steel is widely used, such as automobile manufacturing, electrical products, rolling stock, aviation, precision instruments, canned food and so on.
Cold-rolled steel plate is the abbreviation of common carbon structural steel cold-rolled sheet, also known as cold-rolled sheet, commonly known as cold plate, sometimes mistakenly written as cold-rolled sheet. The cold plate is a steel plate with a thickness of less than 4mm, which is made of common carbon structural steel hot rolled steel strip by further cold rolling. Because the normal temperature rolling does not produce scale, the surface quality of the cold plate is good and the dimensional accuracy is high. In addition, its mechanical properties and technological properties are better than hot-rolled steel plates, and it has been gradually used to replace hot-rolled steel plates in many fields, especially in the field of household appliances manufacturing. Galvanized coil is hot rolled at room temperature below recrystallization temperature, including plate and coil, which can be produced by many domestic steel mills such as Baosteel, Wuhan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. Among them, sheet delivery is called steel plate, also called box plate or flat plate; Long and rolled delivery is called steel strip, also known as rolled plate.
Definition of galvanized coil
It is rolling under recrystallization, but it is generally understood as rolling with materials rolled at room temperature. Aluminum cold rolling is divided into plate rolling and foil rolling. Plate with thickness above 0. 15~ and foil with thickness below 0. 15~ are commonly used cold rolling equipment in Europe and America.
manufacturing technique
Because there is no heating in the production process, there are no defects such as pits and iron scales that often appear in hot rolling, and the surface quality is good and the finish is high. Moreover, the dimensional accuracy of cold-rolled products is high, and the properties and microstructure of products can meet some special requirements, such as electromagnetic properties and deep drawing properties.
3. What are the materials of galvanized coil?
Due to the different treatment methods in the painting process, the surface state of galvanized coil is also different, including ordinary zinc coil, refined zinc coil, flat zinc coil, zinc-free coil and phosphating surface. Galvanized coil should have a good appearance, and there should be no defects harmful to product use, such as no coating, holes, cracks, scum, excessive coating thickness, scratches, chromic acid pollution, white rust, etc.
According to the production and processing methods can be divided into the following categories:
A) Hot dip galvanized steel coil. Immerse the thin steel coil in molten zinc bath to make the surface of the thin steel coil adhere to a layer of zinc. At present, it is mainly produced by continuous galvanizing process, that is, the rolled steel plate is continuously immersed in zinc bath to make galvanized steel coil;
B) alloy galvanized steel coil. This kind of steel coil is also made by hot dip method, but it is heated to about 500℃ immediately after it is taken out of the tank, forming an alloy coating of zinc and iron. This galvanized coil has good adhesion and weldability of paint;
C) galvanized steel coil. Galvanized steel coil produced by electroplating method has good processability. However, the coating is thin and the corrosion resistance is not as good as that of hot dip galvanized coil;
D) Single-sided galvanized and double-sided differential galvanized steel coils. Single-sided galvanized steel coil, that is, a product that is galvanized only on one side. It has better adaptability than double-sided galvanized coil in welding, painting, antirust treatment and processing. In order to overcome the disadvantage of not coating zinc on one side, there is another kind of galvanized coil with thin zinc on the other side, that is, double-sided differential galvanized coil;
E) Alloy and composite galvanized steel coils. It is a steel coil made of zinc and other metals (such as lead and zinc), and even has a cladding. This kind of steel coil not only has excellent antirust performance, but also has good painting performance. In addition to the above five kinds, there are colored galvanized steel coils, printed galvanized steel coils and PVC laminated galvanized steel coils. But at present, the most commonly used is hot-dip galvanized coil. Galvanized steel coil can be divided into general use, roof use, building external board use, structural use, corrugated board use, stretching use and deep drawing use.
The reason why galvanized coil is coated with a layer of zinc on the steel surface is actually because the steel plate is easily oxidized by oxides such as water in the air, thus being corroded. In fact, a layer of zinc was plated to better protect the steel. Galvanized coil has two advantages, one is adhesion and the other is weldability. Because of these two advantages, they are widely used in the fields of architecture, industry, automobile industry and commerce. Another important feature is corrosion resistance, which can produce good results for the manufacture of household appliance shells.
