Physical phenomenon
Diffuser is a physical phenomenon in which sound waves refract, reflect and scatter when they meet two media with different refractive indexes on the way.
Change the travel route
Through the array arrangement of micro-feature structures on the surface of the substrate, the sound ray is artificially adjusted to refract, reflect and scatter in different directions, thus changing the propagation route.
The spread of sound
A good diffuser can change the propagation of reflected sound in different directions. If the same sound wave is uniformly reflected in multiple directions, the path length that various waves must pass to reach the listener will also change.
Skills of using home theater
Try to hear direct sound in the first three channels, which means that the direct sound intensity of the first three channels is higher than the reflected sound. So the first reflection point of the top three must be strongly absorbed. Too much reverberation will reduce the clarity and sound image localization, and too much reverberation will lead to echo. Because the first three pairs require high definition, the back walls of the first three pairs are also strongly absorbed, and the first reflection point in the middle is also strongly absorbed.
Skills of using concert hall
The reverberation intensity of surround and sky channel speakers is higher than that of direct sound. Strong absorption around the sound box will lead to less reverberation sound, which will lead to less sense of space. Therefore, surround speakers should not be strongly absorbed, but should be diffused.
