GCr 15 steel is a kind of high-carbon chromium bearing steel with less alloy content, good properties and the most widely used. After quenching and tempering, the hardness is high and uniform, the wear resistance is good and the contact fatigue performance is high. The steel has moderate cold working plasticity, general machinability, poor weldability, high sensitivity to white spots and temper brittleness.

Its heat treatment system is: steel bar annealing, steel wire annealing or 830-840 degree oil quenching.

Heat treatment process parameters:

1. Ordinary annealing: heating at 790-8 10, furnace cooling to 650, air cooling -HB 170-207.

2. Isothermal annealing: 790-8 10 degree heating, 7 10-720 degree isothermal, air cooling -HB 207-229.

3. Normalization: 900-920 degrees heating and air cooling -HB 270-390.

4. High temperature tempering: heating at 650-700 degrees and air cooling -HB 229-285.

5. Quenching: heating at 860 degrees and oil quenching -HRC 62-66

6. Low temperature tempering: 150- 170 degree tempering, air cooling -HRC 6 1-66.

7. Carbonitriding: 820-830 * *1.5-3 hours, oil quenching, cryogenic treatment at -60 -70+150+160 tempering, air cooling -HRC ≈ 67.
