Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, founded on June 3rd, 1925, is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Formerly Guanghua University, directly under the Ministry of Education of China. It is a national key university with economic management as the main body and finance as the focus. Known as "China Financial Talent Pool", the first batch of "double-first-class" world-class discipline construction universities in China, and the national "2 1 1 project.
The school has been selected into the "20 1 1 Plan", the key research base of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, the national training base of basic talents in economics, the national postgraduate project of building a high-level university, the scholarship receiving institution of the China Municipal Government for international students in China, and the national demonstration university for deepening the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education.
June 3 1925 patriotic teachers and students left St. John's University and supported Mr. Zhang Shouyong to establish Guanghua University in the May 30th anti-imperialist patriotic upsurge. 1938 Guanghua university Chengdu branch was established due to its westward migration during the anti-Japanese war. 1946 changed its name to Hua University. 1952 to 1953. Based on Chenghua University, it was merged into the Finance Department of Southwest China 16 to form Sichuan University of Finance and Economics. 1960 Sichuan university of finance and economics and Sichuan university of science and technology were established respectively, and in 196 1 year they merged and renamed Chengdu university. 1978 resumed as Sichuan University of Finance and Economics.
