In recent years, chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) and chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) have developed rapidly and are widely used in China, playing an increasingly important role in various plastic manufacturing in the plastic products industry. Dongying Xuye Plastic Materials Co., Ltd. has seized the opportunity of the rising development of this industry and embarked on the road of sustained and rapid development, which has contributed to the development of China plastic industry and will make greater contributions. Let me briefly introduce the development of chlorinated polyethylene and chlorinated polyvinyl chloride products in China.
First of all, the production capacity and output of chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) products in China now ranks first in the world.
According to China Chlor-Alkali (No.8, 2004), chlorinated polymers, as important synthetic materials, have been used in many fields of national economy. China is one of the few countries in the world that have conducted in-depth research and development of chlorinated polymers, and has been at the forefront of the world in the production and development of some varieties of chlorinated polymers, such as chlorinated polyethylene, which has become the largest producer. With the popularization of CPE products and the promotion of national industrial policies, the CPE product industry has developed rapidly and the market capacity has increased rapidly, which objectively makes it possible for CPE production to develop intensively.
The excellent comprehensive properties and processability of CPE resin make its application prospect broad. CPE is a kind of polymer material with excellent comprehensive properties, which is chlorinated from high-density polyethylene and has excellent weather resistance, low temperature resistance and electrical properties. Ozone resistance; Chemical resistance and oil resistance; Flame retardancy; It also has good processing fluidity and good compatibility with other plastics and rubber. The main uses are (1) plastic modifiers, (2) rubber modifiers, (3) elastic rubber products, (4) coatings and other products. Such as PVC modifier; Toughener and flame retardant for PP, PE, PS, ABS, etc. Products include refrigerator tapes, cold-resistant wire and cable sheaths, waterproof coiled materials, flame-retardant conveyor belts, plastic profiles and colored bicycle belts.
Serialization of CPE products is the main gap between China and overseas CPE manufacturers. Although China's existing production capacity and output have ranked first in the world, the product variety is still single. In addition to the rapid development of CPE in the field of chemical building materials, compared with foreign countries, the following areas have made little progress and need to be developed urgently.
(1) Low Mooney CPE rubber and special CPE resin for wire and cable;
(2) Chlorinated polyethylene for automobile industry (used for manufacturing heat-resistant and oil-resistant oil pipelines and seals);
(3) The improved special CPE is very important for ABS.
(4) Develop thermoplastic elastomer based on chlorinated polyethylene, which can be used in shock absorbing materials, sporting goods, automobile parts and so on.
At present, DuPont-Dow Chemical Company, Hayashi Company and Showa Electric Company all produce corresponding CPE varieties, and the CPE consumption of these varieties accounts for about 40%-50% of the total CPE consumption abroad. China should step up research and development and promotion in the above fields, and make more efforts in raw material selection, production technology and market promotion.
In a word, CPE is chlorinated from PE and has good miscibility with many plastics. It is widely used as a modifier for other plastics, especially for PVC. Blending chlorinated polyethylene with PVC can improve the impact strength of PVC, and can be used to produce pipes and building materials (plastic doors, windows, corrugated boards, etc.). ) can also be used for wire coating. Blending CPE with ABS or PE can improve the flame retardancy and processability of the latter.
Second, chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) has developed rapidly in China.

Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) developed earlier in China. In 1970s, the water phase production process was developed and a number of achievements were made. Several brands of production technology have been developed.
Chlorinated PVC is an important plastic raw material with excellent aging resistance, corrosion resistance and high flame retardancy. Mainly used for pipes, plates, injection molded parts, foam materials and anticorrosive coatings. CPVC resin is a new plastic material with certain market potential. Improving the performance of CPVC resin has become a necessary condition for its product development and an urgent need for CPVC molding and processing enterprises.
High-performance CPVC plastics are used to produce various extruded products, including pipes, plates, profiles and sheets. The application fields are chemical industry, places with fire protection requirements and places with temperature resistance requirements. At present, the main products on the market are:
(1), chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) pipe for industrial use, can be applied to corrosive media with a certain temperature in conveyor belts in chemical industry. The main performance conforms to the international standard ISO/DIS 15493- 1, and the Vicat softening temperature is ≥110℃;
(2) Industrial chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) pipe fittings are matched with industrial CPVC pipes. The main performance conforms to the international standard ISO/DIS 15493- 1, and the Vicat softening temperature is ≥103℃;
(3) Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) pipes for hot and cold water can be used for conveying domestic hot and cold water and heating in the construction industry. The main performance conforms to the international standard ISO/DIS 15877-2.2, and the Vicat softening temperature is ≥110℃;
(4) Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) pipes for cold and hot water are matched with CPVC pipes for cold and hot water. The main performance conforms to the international standard ISO/DIS 15877-2.2, and the Vicat softening temperature is ≥103℃;
(5) Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) bushing for buried high-voltage power cable can be applied to the protection tube of buried high-voltage power cable in power industry, and its main performance conforms to the national standard QB/T2479-2000, and the Vicat softening temperature is ≥93℃.
The production and application results of the above varieties are good, but the quality problems are uneven. Some quality problems are similar to PPR pipes, which are not produced with qualified resin. The low quality of products should attract people from all walks of life.
2. Production equipment for high-performance chlorinated PVC plastic products

3. Problems to be solved urgently in the production of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride and countermeasures
In order to develop chlorinated PVC products in China, we must pay attention to the processing technology of chlorinated PVC. At present, there are few CPVC resins in China, so it is impossible to provide a special brand of CPVC resins. The performance of domestic CPVC can not reach the existing high chlorine content (70~75%), which is suitable for processing requirements. There are still some weak links in the production and processing technology of chlorinated PVC, which leads to the slow development of chlorinated PVC production in China. CPVC products are still in the initial stage in China. Because the market positioning is not in place, the understanding of this product with strong market vitality is not enough, and the progress of marketing is not great. But it is foreseeable that once the market starts, the prospects are still good. Domestic experts believe that it is urgent to strengthen the following aspects.
(1) Strengthen the research and development and application of processing AIDS.
It is very important for CPVC to develop thermal shock modifier, thermal flow modifier and special stabilizer for CPVC. Foreign CPVC manufacturers, such as Goodrich B.F Company, Japan Zhongyuan Chemical Company, Shuishui Chemical Company, Japan Carbide Company, etc., have formed their own supporting processing systems after years of in-depth research, and have continuously improved them, thus solving the processing problems of CPVC. At present, the personnel and institutions engaged in this research in China are relatively weak and need to be improved to promote the development of CPVC products in China.
(2) Strengthen the research and marketing of processing technology.
Because of the particularity of CPVC processing, there are corresponding requirements for processing equipment, supporting technology and processing conditions, and the research on CPVC processing technology is very important for its popularization. Some research has been done in China, but due to the influence of supporting additives and processing equipment, it is difficult to carry out in-depth work, which directly affects the rapid development of this industry.
(3) Strengthen the quality and testing of raw and auxiliary materials.
At present, most CPVC production enterprises in China are non-CPVC professional production enterprises, so attention should be paid to strengthening the communication and exchange between PVC and CPVC production enterprises. Although PVC and CPVC are similar in processing and application fields, there are great differences in product performance requirements. In foreign countries, CPVC production enterprises have advantages in supporting the development of raw materials, and the successful experience is worth learning.
(4) Strengthen the serialization and standardization of products.
In order to speed up the popularization of CPVC, we should improve the variety serialization level of CPVC products as soon as possible, and actively adopt international standards and standards of advanced countries to organize production to meet the growing CPVC market demand.
In order to make CPVC products with great market potential develop healthily, I think we should also pay attention to the following practical problems: first, the standardization of market competition; Where there is a market, there is competition, but the market cannot be chaotic. In China, the market for producing "high voltage buried power cables and pipelines" with domestic CPVC resin has developed for several years. With the development of electric power industry and the transformation of power grids in large and medium-sized cities, the market consumption is very large. However, the low-price competition forced almost all enterprises producing CPVC power pipes to replace CPVC pipes with high-filled PVC pipes, which laid a serious hidden danger. Second, the scientific nature of standards and the seriousness of implementing standards; In the case of incomplete and profound understanding of new materials, it is not appropriate to hastily formulate industry standards or national standards, especially CPVC product standards. In addition, not only production enterprises should strictly implement standards, but also quality inspection units and users should have the seriousness of implementing standards.
