COMEX is the abbreviation of new york Metal Exchange, and merged with NYMEX in 1994 to establish the world's largest commodity exchange-the New York Mercantile Exchange. NYMEX is located in the financial center of Manhattan, new york, adjacent to new york Stock Exchange.
According to the New York Mercantile Exchange's definition, its futures trading is divided into NYMEX and COMEX. NYMEX deals in energy, platinum and palladium, while COMEX deals in futures and options contracts for gold, silver, copper and aluminum.
