The difference between the Trailblazer's variable cylinder and the ordinary engine

The "LSY2.0T" engine manufactured by General Motors has completely liberated American cars from "high fuel consumption" designs. The aircraft has two major technical highlights aimed at reducing fuel consumption.

1.Tripower valve management technology. The LSY engine can control the valve to achieve special opening during operation. The four-cylinder sport mode has the intake stroke valve fully open. When the intake air volume is normal, the fuel injection volume according to the air-to-fuel ratio (14.7:1) is also normal. The performance experience of this mode is good, after all, the maximum is 177kW/350N·m (1500~)

The four-cylinder fuel-saving mode is "valve half-open", which is the result of TP's special valve control mechanism. The air intake volume and fuel injection volume of the half-open valve will be reduced, but the power required when the car is cruising at a fixed speed is not very high. At this time, reducing the total amount of oil and gas mixture while meeting the power demand can naturally reduce fuel consumption.

This mode is similar to the Miller cycle of BYD Xiaoyun 1.5T and Toyota. The difference is that the half-open valve reduces the total amount of mixture in the intake stroke, and Miller cruise reduces the mixture in the compression stroke. total gas volume. The key is that high torque can still be achieved through supercharging technology. The fuel-saving mode is only activated in cruise mode, so the performance and fuel-saving effects are quite good.

2. Intelligent cylinder replacement technology. The crankshaft structure of the LSY engine is also very special. Under the action of the control system, the operation of "2/3 cylinder" can be closed. At this time, only "1/4 cylinder" works in the "half-open valve" state. Theoretically, the fuel consumption is reduced by half, but the power of the dual-cylinder operation will definitely be reduced, so the operating speed will be increased, but the overall fuel saving effect is still quite ideal.

It is undeniable that the technology of LSY engine is indeed quite advanced. Valve control and cylinder shut-off achieve fuel savings in phases with low power requirements while meeting the power requirements in normal Otto cycle mode. This is better than the simple Atkinson cycle and Miller cycle (self-priming head), and the fuel consumption is lower than the simple Otto cycle.

To put it bluntly, it is the ability to switch between high performance and low power consumption. The intelligence of the machine can turn novice drivers into "experienced drivers" - it can be easily done without the need for skilled driving skills and awareness. Controlling the car to achieve the ideal state is the characteristic of LSY. At present, this machine has been fully used in GM's three major brands: Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac. In the joint venture car camp, GM has surpassed the "half-generation" friends.
