Futures have just started trading, and the approximate figure is zero. A contract is formed when the buyer and the seller ask the same price.
There is an index called open contract number. The increase in the number of positions and contracts shows that the differences between long and short sides are increasing and the long and short battles are fierce. The open position and the reduction of the number of contracts indicate that the long and short sides tend to be consistent, the combat power is weakened, and the wrong side gives up and ends.
When you open a new position to buy a first-hand contract, it may be that the contract originally bought by others has been sold to you and the contract has been transferred to you. It may also be that a person who has no contract in his hand and is bearish on the future trades with you to form a new contract. Eventually, most contracts will be closed. If it is not closed at maturity, they will have to pay the full deposit and make physical delivery.
