connect the external monitor;

for operating systems above win 7, right-click the screen and select' screen resolution'. Xp system: Enter through the' control panel', and the control panel-appearance and personalization-display-adjusts the resolution.

win7 will have the following interface, and xp system is similar.

click the multi-display option, select' copy to these displays', and click ok. That's it.
