What is LLM's employment prospect?
Four types of legal talents urgently needed by the market

Category I: Talents who are familiar with foreign-related laws. Those who are good at civil law, commercial law and economic law can consider these development directions: WTO legal talents and foreign lawyers. According to the relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Justice, there is a considerable shortage of WTO legal talents in China at present. Among the hundreds of thousands of lawyers in China, only more than 2,000 can handle foreign affairs, and only 200 to 300 can skillfully participate in negotiations and sign contracts in foreign languages, and more than half of them are concentrated in big cities such as Beijing.

The second category: talents who are good at real estate law. These talents should not only be familiar with the laws and regulations about real estate, but also know the technical knowledge about real estate. Such as real estate mortgage work.

The third category: talents who focus on finance. Including lawyers and agents in insurance, investment, state-owned assets, futures and securities. These people should not only be familiar with general legal theory knowledge, but also have a deep understanding of various professional legal fields, including company law, tax law, merger and acquisition, asset reorganization, banking, securities and other laws. It is best to have professional qualifications such as the qualification of agent issued by the government, the qualification of defining property rights of state-owned assets, and the qualification of securities lawyers. These lawyers with professional expertise can ensure that they can provide targeted, high-quality and efficient expert services to customers in different industries, and at the same time reduce the fees paid by customers for legal services.

The fourth category: lawyers who are familiar with intellectual property law. Besides mastering the basic theory of intellectual property law, we should also pay attention to the latest development of intellectual property in the world. In recent years, intellectual property rights have made new development at home and abroad, and are constantly increasing and improving, so we must keep up with the development.

LLM talent gap is still very large.

Master of Laws (LLM), as a typical representative of interdisciplinary postgraduate entrance examination, has attracted many non-law majors, both in science and engineering and humanities. Why do so many people take the Master of Laws? According to our professional classification, LLM can be classified as both spiritual satisfaction and material realization. It is a major that can not only meet the spiritual needs of upholding justice and speaking for the disadvantaged groups in society, but also get rich material returns. In addition, the master of law is a national volume, highlighting fair competition. These factors are also the main reasons for candidates to apply for the exam.

China LLM, as a professional master, is a specialty with China characteristics. Due to various reasons, China's legal professionals are very scarce, and the current political and legal system and social legal service team urgently need high-quality legal talents to supplement them. 65438-0996 Approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, eight universities enrolled the first batch of LLM students. At that time, such LLM students were allowed to apply. At this time, a series of problems are implied: for example, the professional caliber of such legal talents is too narrow, the talent specifications are single, the enrollment method and training mode are not suitable for the cultivation of high-level compound and applied legal talents, and it is difficult to meet the urgent needs of modernization, especially the construction of political and legal teams. After the contradiction appeared, China began to need a new training mode of LLM. After referring to the training mode of master of laws in the United States, the education mode of master of laws began to be reformed. Since 2000, the national joint examination (unified proposition and unified marking) has been implemented for professional courses, allowing candidates with the same academic level to apply according to China's national conditions. This move is called by many legal professionals as a major reform in the history of legal education in China, which has far-reaching significance. Here, we believe that the progress of our society and the development of the rule of law need a master of law with multi-professional background to play an important role, because only in this way can we meet the social demand for senior legal talents and cultivate high-level, wide-caliber and compound legal talents with specific professional background.

The broad employment prospects of LLM graduates are attracting more and more cross-disciplinary candidates to apply for LLM, regardless of the wider scope of their majors and the advantages that law majors do not have, so the Master of Law is 1+ 1 > 2. As far as the employment trend of LLM after graduation is concerned, LLM is mainly engaged in legislation, judicature, administrative law enforcement, legal services, public affairs, economic management and other practical work. For the vast number of candidates who are interested in the legal profession rather than the law major, the graduate students who have obtained the master's degree in law are the best choice to directly engage in legal work or pursue advanced studies at a high starting point. China's LLM training model is based on the American LLM training model. For this new teaching reform, it provides an opportunity for candidates with unsatisfactory original majors to re-choose their development direction, and also creates opportunities and shortcuts for those who have never studied law and want to engage in the legal profession. LLM graduates are compound senior talents because they have mastered two different professional knowledge. At present, the employment of LLM graduates can be said to be in short supply. All political and legal departments such as public security, procuratorial work and law, state organs and social legal service institutions need such a large number of talents every year. The person in charge of the relevant departments said that with the implementation of the strategy of governing the country according to law and the enhancement of people's legal awareness, the requirements for law enforcement personnel have also increased accordingly. As the main body and source of ensuring judicial justice, introducing talents is a means to improve the quality of political and legal organs.

The overall employment situation of Fashuo

It should be said that Fa Shuo used to have a good job. However, due to the expansion of education scale and enrollment scale, the most important thing is that the employment environment is not satisfactory, and the current employment difficulties of LLM are also obvious. But we must also understand that this is not the fault of Fa Shuo alone, nor is it just Fa Shuo, so the law cannot be exempted. Actually, as I said before, Fa Shuo can't give people a good job. We must give up this idea, even if Fashuo had a good job before. However, times have changed, so have our ideas. If we are the same, I don't think we need to apply. Especially if you want to be a lawyer as soon as you come out, then low income may accompany you for at least three to five years, which is determined by the characteristics of the industry. Please note that law is a prominent school, and the employment situation is the same, not to mention other disciplines.

However, on the other hand, Fa Shuo has a dual academic background after all. In any case, it is a fact that employment opportunities and employment fields are relatively wide. Of course, the premise is that you can't lose your undergraduate major. I can't study law, but I lost everything else. Studying for a master's degree in law does not mean that you must engage in legal work in the future. Don't even think that studying for Master Fa and not engaging in legal work is the failure of Master Fa. In a sense, education only gives people a way of thinking and thinking. This thinking mode of legal person is good for you to engage in any work in the future, even if you don't engage in law. Some people say that after graduating from LLM, you have to take an undergraduate major to find a job. I think this is actually a misunderstanding. If you don't have a master's background, who can guarantee that you will get the job? Sometimes, these are complementary, and this is the advantage of Fashuo.

Analysis on the Employment Prospect of Fashuo

First of all, the salary is not as low as some people think, so there is no need to worry. There are many kinds of jobs to find after graduation. Some are civil servants, some work in companies, some are in courts, some are teachers and some are in law firms.

1. Let's talk about civil servants first. There is a great difference in the salaries of civil servants between the north and the south. For example, Beijing is far behind Shenzhen and Guangdong. In Guangdong, because the salaries of civil servants have been standardized by all organs, there is little difference. Civil servants in Beijing are different. The income of civil servants in ministries and commissions is not as high as that in Beijing below.

2. Let's talk about corporate practices. There are not many such opportunities. Because only big companies have their own legal departments. It is very rare to go in and learn something. Generally, foreign banks rarely recruit graduates with no work experience, while domestic banks recruit certain law graduates every year. The treatment of foreign banks has been good. The treatment of domestic banks is also acceptable. For example, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of Beijing is very good. But to be honest, the development prospect of entering the bank is not very good. It will be very good if you study science and finance. The treatment of insurance companies is not as good as that of banks. But it can also solve the hukou problem. However, the demand of insurance companies for legal affairs is not great. Foreign companies can't recruit many fresh graduates, but some students still go to foreign companies.

3. Let's talk about the lawsuit. I only talk about the situation in Beijing courts. Chaoyang Court and Haidian Court are the two best-paid courts. The treatment of the procuratorate is not as good as that of the court, just like that of ordinary organs in Beijing.

Teachers' income is not as much as the above, and they can only engage in general administrative work after graduating from LLM.

Working in a law firm may be lower at first. Beijing law firm may be better than Shanghai and Guangdong. But some of them are well paid.

A master of law student must give full play to the advantages of his undergraduate major. Those who study finance will go to banks, while those who study English will go to foreign companies to compare their strengths with others' weaknesses. It is safe to consider whether to be a lawyer after two or three years. Moreover, the development will be much smoother from now on. After working in a bank for several years, I can do financial and securities business and learn English to do foreign-related business. I will make greater progress after I have a skill. Finally, I wish the students a bright future.
