Are there many language training institutions? Where is the norm?
The rapid development of China's economy slows down the growth rate of GDP, which leads to the grim employment situation of contemporary college students. In order to cope with the severe employment situation, contemporary college students are committed to "charging" themselves, that is, learning new skills and improving their abilities through various ways and means. On the one hand, some college students not only participate in school courses, but also seek to optimize their comprehensive quality in order to better adapt to the employment situation. Some eligible students want to go abroad for further study in order to increase their employment opportunities after returning home. On the other hand, private training institutions provide educational resources and environment for college students who don't have endowment conditions, and provide technical training, cultivating hobbies, simulating job-hunting procedures, creating language environment, simulating interview procedures abroad and other multi-dimensional training for some students who can't find the right direction, so that college students can enhance their language ability, improve their adaptability and adapt to the employment standards of enterprises before they really practice. Therefore, it is very common for college students to attend training institutions. The training institution that contemporary college students participate in the most is the foreign language training institution. Over the past 30 years of reform and opening up, foreign language training institutions have developed rapidly. After the 18th National Congress, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council decided to comprehensively deepen reform and accelerate the improvement of the modern market system. Based on this, the foreign language training market is developing faster. However, despite the fierce market competition in foreign language training institutions, there are still many confusing problems in various training institutions. On the one hand, students, as consumers, still face some adverse selection and moral hazard problems caused by information asymmetry when making choices. On the other hand, small training institutions have limited resources and capabilities in the process of enterprise growth, so it is easier to put income distribution first and strategies such as teaching products and personnel training second when sorting the above development strategies. In a word, there are many problems in foreign language training institutions in the market, which are not conducive to protecting the physical and mental interests of college students and other consumer groups. College students and their parents are very concerned about the solutions to the causes of chaos in foreign language training institutions. Based on the investigation of college students' choice of schools in seven universities in central China and the current situation of well-known foreign language training institutions, this paper analyzes the problems existing in foreign language training institutions and puts forward reasonable suggestions in order to contribute to the healthy development of foreign language training market. The second part is the content of investigation and research. According to different research objects, we should explore different information resources from different groups to form a complete information chain, and prepare sufficient and multi-angle information resources support for analyzing the reasons for the development difficulties of private foreign language training institutions, making relevant suggestions and exploring legal settlement mechanisms. (1) Students from seven schools in Central China are direct experiencers of the chaos in private foreign language training institutions. We will learn from them through the questionnaire: 1. The original intention of joining a foreign language training institution and the reason for choosing the current training institution. 2. Gains from participating in foreign language training institutions. On the problems found by foreign language training institutions 4. Talk about my suggestions and expectations for the construction of private training institutions. College students must have their own solutions and countermeasures to these problems in the long-term study process. We hope that through on-the-spot investigation, we can get authentic contents and sum up their commonness. (2) The principals and their staff of private foreign language training institutions know the following information through questionnaires and interviews: 1. The current situation of foreign language training industry; 2. Advantages and disadvantages of its own foreign language training institutions; 3. The situation of students; 4. Teachers and management methods; 5. Problems encountered in development. Explain to them the views of college students surveyed by our team on this institution and ask for their views and solutions. (III) Staff of relevant government departments We mainly interviewed the Education Bureau and the Industry and Commerce Bureau, which are responsible for the supervision and management of private education and training institutions. No matter how comprehensive and well-intentioned a policy or law is, it is impossible to implement it as expected in practice. Most of the findings of the actual situation are in the hands of the government. By asking government departments about the data of private education and training institutions and combining the results of our actual visits, we can draw a relatively objective and well-founded conclusion on the implementation of policies and laws. In addition, through interviews, we can understand the access system of non-academic private education and training institutions, the development status of various foreign language training institutions around Wuhan universities, the problems found in long-term work and the solutions. (4) The staff of the relevant departments of the school asked the staff of the Academic Affairs Office and the teachers of the Foreign Languages Institute the following questions through interviews: 1. The reasons for agreeing to set up these institutions in our school; Second, how much does the school know about foreign language training institutions? Third, the school also has foreign language training classes. For example, we saw the IELTS training course offered by the teachers of the Institute of Foreign Languages in Wenbo Building, the office building of the Institute of Foreign Languages. Theoretically, these courses are cheaper and the teaching quality is higher. Why not fully support their development and let students like Starlight II and New International seize the student market? 4. Views and solutions on the behaviors of these training institutions that are not worthy of the name and infringe on the rights and interests of students. Second, research methods Our research methods are based on our understanding of the connotation of the topic and the objective needs of empirical awareness. Mainly adhere to the principle of "empirical, supplemented by norms, combined with quantitative and qualitative analysis", and determine the research method system based on the combination of questionnaire survey and interview, supplemented by static observation, literature retrieval and comparative analysis, in order to give full play to the respective advantages of different methods and achieve the best research results. 1. Questionnaire survey: Based on college students' satisfaction with foreign language training institutions and their financial ability, we conducted a questionnaire survey among college students from 7 schools in Central China. The setting of questions focuses on the teachers, teaching quality and students' gains of foreign language training institutions, and understands the difficulties and chaos of private foreign language training institutions and their views on excellent foreign language training institutions. 2. Interview method: interview the heads of private foreign language training institutions and their staff, the staff of relevant government departments, and the staff of relevant departments of schools, randomly interview college students who participate in different types of foreign language training institutions, and prepare an interview outline in advance. Mainly understand their views on the role of government policies, legal mechanisms and school supervision in this topic and the measures to solve the corresponding problems, so as to provide reference for our research results. 3. Comparative analysis: There are already some models in front-line private foreign language training institutions to solve various difficulties of private foreign language training institutions, such as New Oriental, New Channel, etc., which started early, developed rapidly, had more students and the quality was obvious to all. Through the comparative analysis with them, it can guide the chaos analysis and legal solution mechanism research of foreign language training institutions around seven schools in Central China. In addition, the large and well-developed foreign language training institutions, such as front-line foreign language training institutions, are compared with small foreign language training institutions around universities in terms of operation mode and government supervision, and effective and feasible optimization suggestions are put forward in combination with the characteristics of small foreign language training institutions around universities. 4. Literature method: There are a lot of research results related to this topic. When conducting empirical research, we will collect and draw lessons from these documents, and strive to complete the research and draw conclusions at the height reached by predecessors. 5. Data collection and integration methods: This survey needs to collect a lot of data. We will make further analysis and seek practical conclusions based on the data published by the state on private training institutions and the collection and arrangement of various effective data during the investigation. The third part is data analysis 1. According to the survey data of the market situation of training institutions, among the 53 people we surveyed, 29 people expressed their willingness to participate in various training institutions, accounting for 53% of the total number. From this, we can see that contemporary college students have a strong interest in learning and an urgent need to improve their own quality, indicating that the market for training institutions around the campus is broad. 132 people who are willing to participate have put it into practice, but 5 people still hold a wait-and-see attitude. Of the 132 people who have participated in training institutions, 5 1 people have participated in foreign language training institutions, accounting for 4%. According to the theory of supply and demand in economics, demand determines supply, so college students' demand for foreign language training is the main reason for the continuous emergence of foreign language training institutions around universities. Second, the basic investigation of college students' participation in training institutions Among the above-mentioned people who were willing but did not participate, we investigated the reasons why they did not participate. The survey results show that questioning the teachers in training institutions has become the main reason for their non-participation, while fear of not being able to persist in learning has become another important reason. Through talking with them, we know that due to information asymmetry, they can't really understand the teaching staff of training institutions in the market at present, and they are afraid of being cheated, and the return on investment is not proportional. Because of the fundamental difference between private training institutions and schools, general training institutions will not manage students scientifically, and the loose teaching management system can not urge students to learn the knowledge they deserve and achieve the expected results. In our interview with the heads of foreign language training institutions, they said that the foreign language teachers employed by the institutions are all professional teachers with formal foreign language education, academic qualifications and rich teaching experience, and foreign teachers have many years of teaching experience in China. However, from our survey of college students, we know that this is not the case. They show that a considerable number of "teachers" in some training institutions have no formal English education at all, and their pronunciation is inaccurate and grammar is confusing, which is different from the foreign language education they received before, which makes people very uneasy. As a gimmick, foreign teachers are not international students in neighboring schools as they say. This shows that the above-mentioned students who are willing but do not participate in training institutions have doubts about the teaching staff of foreign language training institutions. 1. Countermeasures and suggestions 1. College students should make full use of the resources around them, such as tutors, classmates, parents, lectures, China Net, etc., consider their own needs from all aspects, plan their future plans, improve their judgment, enhance their autonomy in choosing various training institutions, compare the differences of different training institutions from all directions and angles, calmly choose, and choose the appropriate training institution according to their own needs and conditions. 2. Training institutions should not only pursue profits. As an educational institution, it should have its unique market positioning. Only by doing a good job in education can they develop for a long time. Conduct market research on students' learning needs before offering courses, divide students into different consumer groups according to different needs, provide different classes and teaching products, conduct scientific market segmentation and market positioning, and put education at the center of institutional development strategy. Education and training institutions will create and retain more loyal and satisfied students if they do a good job in education. Invisibly, the exchange between students will increase the market share and consumers of the training institutions themselves. In addition, training institutions should introduce teaching management methods to each other, pay attention to students' learning trends, find problems in time and communicate with them, so as to solve the problems existing in students' learning process and guide students more scientifically and efficiently; Teachers are trained regularly, so that teachers can keep learning and progress, improve their teaching level and enhance their teaching ability. 3. Colleges and universities should strengthen the guidance to students, hold regular lectures on career planning, future planning and other related exchange studies, organize in-class experience exchange meetings, enhance class exchanges and broaden students' horizons; In view of the situation that advertisements are distributed and pasted at will, the relevant departments of the school should strengthen standardized management, set up management teams, assign responsibilities to specific unit personnel, set up special bulletin boards and post publicity information. In addition, different colleges and universities can organize their own training courses and make full use of their rich resources. For example, the advanced seminar on futures and securities investment recently held by China Agricultural University, on the one hand, seeks benefits for students, forms a competitive mechanism with off-campus training institutions, and promotes the self-optimization of off-campus institutions. On the other hand, it is also profitable, providing a source of income for college debt. 4. The government should strengthen the construction of the rule of law, improve the legislation of the procedures for the declaration and establishment of training institutions, increase judicial support for consumer infringement cases, strengthen students' awareness of rights protection, and severely crack down on the cheating of consumers by training institutions. Through innovative ways, let students choose training institutions that are more suitable for them and broaden the ways for students to understand education and training institutions. For example, rank or commend the training institutions that have been evaluated by the trainees; With the help of the media, the different emphases of training institutions are evaluated, such as written examination, listening, oral English and simultaneous interpretation. Organize and convene the enrollment meeting of education and training institutions in a unified way; Student feedback meeting, etc. China, Private Education Association and other public welfare China stations will be set up, and columns such as the list of qualified private training institutions, how to choose formal training institutions, how to complain about rights protection, warnings about running schools in violation of regulations, and education administrative departments will be set up in China station. Through these channels, more information about training institutions can be disclosed to students, and the competition mechanism of innovative training institutions can be guided and established.
