At present, glass enterprises are facing great environmental pressure, which is gradually turning into cost support. According to the survey, the sales of several large delivery plants and warehouses in Shahe are acceptable, but some of them are not weak in the off-season, and the spot price is still relatively firm.
The reason is partly due to the benefits released by "environmental pressure". First of all, the environmental protection policy has accelerated the upgrading of the glass industry structure, and many backward production capacity, especially the Gefa production line, has been shut down, which is good for the supply side; Secondly, there is a demand for upgrading fuel devices in glass enterprises, and the fuel will shift from coal to natural gas; Secondly, upstream quartz sand enterprises have also shut down and limited production in the context of stricter environmental protection, and raw materials are in short supply and prices are rising.
In addition, from the demand side, Zhang Chi, an analyst with Guotai Junan, pointed out that in recent years, many glass deep-processing enterprises have sprung up in Shahe area, and this kind of glass deep-processing industry is relatively less affected by weather, real estate and other factors. The deep-processed products are all double-layer or even triple-layer glass, and the demand has doubled, making it a price stabilizer for Shahe glass in the off-season. Even if the weather turns cold in the north in the future and the demand for real estate shrinks further in winter, the inventory pressure of Shahe glass enterprises may be reduced compared with the same period last year due to the supplementary demand of glass deep processing industry.
