The full names of 1 and ESG40 are the CSI ECPI ESG Sustainability 40 Index (000970). According to the ECPI ESG rating method, this index selects 40 company stocks with high ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) rating from the sample stocks of SSE 180 corporate governance index to form sample stocks, so as to reflect the ECPI ESG in SSE 180 corporate governance index.

The sample selection method of this index is to use ECPI ESG method to rate the securities in the sample space from three aspects: environment, society and governance, and select the top 40 securities as samples according to the rating results. If the ratings are the same, the securities with a large average daily market value in the last year will be preferred.
